Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player won his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after that period of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
However the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an better serving game.
He fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional title, took control to force a third set.
He saved four initial break points in a tight final set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
